New Oddysey Coming to Schomp Honda 9/30!
The all-new 2011 Honda Odyssey is the ultimate minivan reinvented, re-energized and evolved. With its modern styling, spacious interior, and high-tech features, the new Odyssey almost demands a new category. Although it carries up to 8 passengers, there's nothing "minivan" about the Odyssey's efficient-yet-sporty performance, available 10-way power adjustable leather-trimmed front seating, authoritative acceleration and all the thoughtful engineering you'd expect from a Honda.
Of course, the new Odyssey pushes the tech envelope further with available features like a 16.2-inch dual-view-capable ultra-wide DVD Rear Entertainment System with HDMI input, and a premium audio system with 12 speakers. Everything is gracefully held together by a lattice of user-friendliness and simplicity-just load it with family and friends, gear up, and go.

Lisa Schomp named a leading woman in auto industry by Automotive News
Lisa Schomp, a third-generation car dealer and owner-president of Ralph Schomp Automotive in Littleton, has been named one of the “100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry” by Automotive News.
“My grandfather was a car dealer, and my father was also in the business,” Schomp tells Automotive News. “I came from a family of six girls and didn’t see any girls in the business. I thought, ‘Why can’t girls do this, too?’”
It’s the trade journal’s first in-depth look at women leaders in the auto industry since 2005.
Most of the 100 women on the list work for automakers; Schomp is one of 13 on the retail side.
The report says that both the recession and the lure of jobs in other fields are thinning the ranks of women in the business.
In interviews, several of the 100 women featured by Automotive News tell of how they had a tough time breaking into a male-dominated business — and Schomp is no exception.
“When I was 21, I was a greeter and brought coffee and donuts to customers at my father’s Oldsmobile store,” Schomp, 58, said in the interview. “When I told my father I wanted to be a dealer, he said I would have to start from the bottom. But if I was his son, I might have started in the sales or service department.”
She also tells of being just the second woman to attend what was then called the “General Motors’ Dealers’ Son School” in Flint, Mich.
“It was a six-month program, and there were about 220 of us in the class,” she recalls. “When I entered the classroom, the instructor looked at me and said the warranty clerk’s class was down the hall. I told him I was not there for the warranty clerk’s class, and he asked, ‘What do you need, honey?’ I said, ‘I’m here to be a dealer — what are you doing here?’”
Automotive News will host a reception honoring the 100 women on its list Sept. 21 in Detroit.

Honda Civic GX and FCX Clarity Retain California HOV Lane Access Until 2015
July 12 2010
California drivers of the compressed natural gas (CNG) - powered Civic GX and zero-emissions FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle will continue to have access to the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) highway lane until January 2015. The recently passed California Assembly Bill 1500 extends HOV lane access to Inherently Low Emission Vehicles (ILEV), which includes cars that are certified zero emission and CNG vehicles. Before the extension was passed, existing ILEV HOV access stickers were set to expire January 1, 2011. Under the new law an unlimited number of HOV lane access stickers will be issued to eligible ILEV vehicles. The law takes effect January 1, 2011.
Honda is the only OEM currently selling a dedicated CNG-powered vehicle designed and manufactured for retail sale in the United States. The 2010 Civic GX achieves an EPA-estimated city/highway fuel economy of 24/36* miles per gasoline-gallon equivalent and is the only vehicle certified by the EPA to meet both Federal Tier 2-Bin 2 and Inherently Low Emission Vehicle (ILEV) zero evaporative emission certification standards**. The Civic GX is available at 43 dealers in California and is priced at $25,340***.
Civic GX owners can refuel at numerous public stations around California as well as at home with a Phill natural gas home refueling appliance. Sold by BRC FuelMaker, Phill connects to a home's existing natural gas line and allows for convenient overnight fueling of the Civic GX.
The zero emissions, hydrogen powered FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle is available for lease-only in Southern California. The sleek and modern sedan is propelled by an electric motor that runs on electricity generated in an on-board hydrogen fuel cell. The FCX Clarity's only emission is water, and its fuel efficiency is three times that of a modern gasoline-powered automobile and two times that of a gasoline-powered hybrid vehicle.

This year's competition included 19 teams of Ohio State University science and engineering students, whose projects offered creative engineering solutions and innovative technologies in one of three categories: Electronics, Mobility, and Materials. A total of $60,000 was awarded to the top three teams in each category, as well as the viewer's choice winner who was chosen by online voting. This year's winners are:

5 Star Review from Insider Pages
5/17/10 - I love my new Honda, and I would totally do business with Ralph Schomp Honda again. I'd researched what I wanted and contacted Ralph Schomp via the interenet. Don Bailey from their internet sales dept. contact me, we set up an appt. and I traded my old vehicle for a new CRV. Don was extremely knowledgable about the new vehicle and walked me thru the entire purchase. There were no hassles with haggling over prices, or trade-in value on my car. It was a great experience. I'm definitely telling everyone I know about Don and Ralph Schomp.

5 Star Review from Edmunds
I just had occasion recently to buy a Pilot from Ralph Schomp Honda. They gave me a fixed internet price that I thought was quite fair right up front without any unseemly haggling. It wasn't the very best price I heard, but in view of the problematic reviews of some of the other companies, I wasn't sure I could trust those prices.
When I went in to test drive and pick up my car at Schomp, the salesman told me that the price had changed. Great, I thought. Here it comes. But they lowered it on me by almost $200. No complaints there.
The salesman and the finance guy do not work on commission. This means that while I did have to hear about the warranty, and financing options, there was no hard sell and they took no for an answer immediately.
From the time I got in to the time I left with my new car was about an hour and a half maybe.
I spent a lot of time reading through all these reviews online, so I felt I owed it to the next guy to share my experience. Mine is only a single case, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
